The Post-Marital Checkup
After the first year of marriage, it makes sense to revisit and see how you are doing. If you did all the preparation in Premarital counseling and applied what you learned, you will want to see how much of a difference it made. Come back and check in with me. You can do the PREPARE Couple Checkup and we’ll go through it together now that you have had a year to get to know each other better in marriage and make sure you can interpret the report for yourself in the future. We’ll help you brush up on the skills you need to make your marriage successful. This is an investment that will pay significant dividends for you in your marriage.
Successful marriage requires being proactive. You must be a learner and be willing to receive feedback. You will want
to set goals and map a course for your relationship to grow. You will want to learn new ideas and practice new skills to strengthen your marriage relationship. Don’t wait until you are struggling before getting help. If you wait too long, sometimes the damage can be irreversible, and prolong and complicate the healing process. It could even mean the chances of separation and divorce increase as well. If you are having issues, I can refer you out to a qualified counselor to provide marriage counseling and you will have identified one or more key issues.
